Wat is Wiskunde?
Wiskunde is ʼn universele taal. Dit is ʼn manier van kommunikeer en word gebruik om te illustreer, vertolk, voorspel en te verduidelik.
Wiskunde is ʼn kreatiewe vak wat leerders die kans bied om self te ontdek, te ontwerp, te modelleer en te argumenteer.
Wiskunde ontwikkel die noodsaaklike getalvaardighede wat leerders in staat stel om hul omgewing, die natuur en die moderne tegnologiese wêreld te verstaan en daaroor te kommunikeer, abstrak te dink en probleme op te los.
Wiskunde bied die kans om iets bo alle twyfel te bewys deur logiese deduktiewe bewysvoering.
Wiskunde oorskry kultuurgrense omdat die mensdom as geheel bygedra het tot die ontdekking en ontwikkeling daarvan en nog steeds doen.
What is Mathematics?
Mathematics is a universal language. It is a way of communicating and is used to illustrate, interpret, predict and explain.
Mathematics is a creative subject that gives learners the opportunity to discover, design, model and argue for themselves.
Mathematics develops the essential number skills that enable learners to understand and communicate about their environment, nature and the modern technological world, think abstractly and solve problems.
Mathematics offers the chance to prove something beyond all doubt through logical deductive proof.
Mathematics transcends cultural boundaries because mankind as a whole has contributed to its discovery and development and still does.

• ʼn Gemotiveerde personeelkorps wat maksimaal ontwikkel en benut word en wat deur goeie menseverhoudings- en kommunikasie effektief kan funksioneer.
• ʼn Dinamiese opvoedkundige program waarin leerders legio geleenthede kry om kreatief te ontwikkel.
• ʼn Skoolomgewing waar elke leerling sy/haar volle potensiaal op akademiese gebied, sosiale interaksie, sport, kulturele akker, leierskap en geloof kan bereik.

Wil jy ‘n ambagsman word?
Dan is Tegniese Wiskunde vir jou.
Hierdie vorm van Wiskunde berei leerders voor op loopbane soos ‘n elektrisiën, meulenaar, draaier en loodgieter, ens.
Jy sal leer om Wiskundige metodes toe te pas om dinge soos piekstroomvloei in ‘n wisselstroomnetwerk te bereken, asook integrasie en differensiasie – dit beteken ook om te weet hoe om gedeeltelike breuke toe te pas.
Met ander woorde, dit is suiwer Wiskunde op ‘n praktiese manier – dit word ook Toegepaste Wiskunde genoem, omdat jy moet weet hoe u die metodes kan toepas op werklike probleme, in teenstelling met die oplossing van eerste beginsels.
Voordeel: Daar is ‘n aanvraag na tegniese vaardighede in Suid-Afrika.
Nadele: Dit verleen vrystelling tot geselekteerde Universiteite en Tegniese Kolleges.

Die finale tuiste van Sigmund Freud, die stigter van psigoanalise, en sy dogter Anna Freud, ‘n baanbrekende kinderpsigoanalis.
Honderd jaar gelede het Sigmund Freud ‘n wêreldwye pandemie beleef. Hierdie nuwe uitstalling ondersoek die ooreenkomste tussen Freud se ervaring van die Spaanse griep en die COVID-19-pandemie in 2020.

Do you want to become an artisan?
Then, Technical Mathematics is for you.
This form of Mathematics prepares learners for careers such as an electrician, millwright and plumber, etc.
You will learn to apply Mathematical methods to calculate things like peak current flow in an alternating current network, as well as integration and differentiation – this also means knowing how to apply partial fractions.
In other words, it’s pure Mathematics in a practical way – it’s also called Applied Mathematics, because you need to know how to apply the methods to real problems, as opposed to solving Mathematical principles.
Advantage: There is a demand for technical skills in South Africa.
Disadvantage: It grants exemption to selective universities and technical colleges.

MoMath, the National Museum of Mathematics, is an award-winning museum that highlights the role of mathematics in illuminating the patterns and structures all around us.
3D-XplorMath is a freely available Mathematical Visualization program.
